May 2008

Dr. Magda El-Shenawee was invited to present at the 2008 International Research and Education in Engineering (IREE) Conference in Washington D.C. The presentation outlined the current work of the group in the main areas of emphasis. Dr. El-Shenawee's presentation can be viewed through the Research section of the site. Five papers from members of the group are accepted for presentation at the 2008 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation and USNC/URSI National Radio Science Meeting to be held in San Diego July 5-12. Reza Hajihashemi's paper entitled "Level Set Algorithm for Shape Reconstruction of Multiple Conducting Cylinders with Arbitrary Cross-Sections" received an honorable mention in the Student Paper Contest. Additional information on this award and other achievments associated with group members can be found on the Awards page

April 2008

The majority of the Computational Electromagnetics Group travelled to Niagara Falls, Canada for the 24th Annual Review of Progress in Applied Computational Electromagnetics (ACES 2008). The trip was productive and enjoyable with PhD student Douglas Woten receiving the distinction of Best Student Paper in the Awards Banquet. Douglas' paper is entitled "Breast Skin Effect on Scattered Electromagnetic Fields." Photos of the trip can be found in the Photo Gallery.

March 2008

Welcome to the homepage of the Computational Electromagnetics Group at the University of Arkansas. On this page you will find information about the group members along with recent news and publications. The primary focus of the group is early breast cancer detection and imaging, although similar techniques are applied in a multitde of applications from mine detection to complex surface reconstruction.

This webpage is continuing to develop with new pages and features added regularly. In the future it will serve as a central access point for all the paper published by our group along with current news and happenings. Feel encouraged to contact us with any questions or comments you might have.
